Webster University has a rich and colorful history that spans more than 100 years. Founded in 1915 in St Louis, Missouri, today it is considered one of the USA’s best private not-for-profit universities. Widely recognized both in the USA and across the world for its international study programs, Webster has a global network of campuses across four continents. In 1925, only ten years after its founding, Webster University was granted accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission. This accreditation extends to each Webster location and covers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs alike. The first Webster campus outside of the United States was established in Geneva, Switzerland in 1978. Since this time, the number of international campuses has continued to expand, with locations now operating across Europe in Austria, the Netherlands, Greece and the United Kingdom. Campuses have also been established as far away as Ghana and Thailand, providing students a wonderful opportunity to experience other cultures. In order to keep its high academic standards, all programs are modeled on the American liberal arts system. At present Webster has about 17,000 students enrolled in all of its global locations. Programs are offered to both undergraduate and postgraduate students across a wide range of disciplines such as business, computer science, international relations and psychology. Each of these programs comes highly accredited and meet the global standards required for students to be competitive in the increasingly globalized society. A hallmark of Webster’s approach to tertiary education is the fostering of individual excellence and the encouragement for all students to become global citizens. In all Webster campuses, faculty staff are comprised of academics and practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds. This includes former ambassadors, business leaders, film producers and psychologists. By having such a variety of staff, students are exposed to prominent individuals with a wealth of knowledge. This provides the inspiration and impetus required for students to take their first steps as future global leaders.
